While software engineering and technology occupy most of my professional life, there are two things I deeply cherish beyond my family — my motorcycle and dogs. These passions remind me to slow down, enjoy the journey, and appreciate the simple joys of life.
I have always considered a motorbike as a short-distance vehicle, and to my mom, it was a death machine — or so was implanted in her brain by the constant appearance of accidents in the newspaper and media.
To describe my bike, she is a gorgeous Royal Enfield Meteor 350 which I bought on 3rd February 2022. As she is a cruiser-type mobile, she has a well-molded style that doesn't cause any discomfort and is highly desirable for a long ride. You can only feel her true power when you open the throttle and gather all the momentum she has to give.
This was my first-ever long ride from Chennai to Yelagiri, a total roundabout of 500+ km. The highlight of this ride was that it was a father-son trip and certainly was a memorable one.
The curves and the magnificent views are still fresh in my mind. It had a lot to offer more than stunning views — like the Fundera park with their spectacular beasts & birds, and all the wonderful resorts that made sure our day became brighter. Even though it was a herculean effort to include my father in this trip, he for sure loved it for all it had to offer and never regretted it.
It was an indecisive ride where we went the way our bike led us, stayed in a place when we felt so. We were in a total bliss state with a bit of irritation when our so-called photoshoots became a bit lengthy.
Both Valparai and Kodaikanal are mountain ranges prominent with steep hairpin bends and picturesque scenery. There is always something extra special about riding in the mountains — the steep turns, the cool breeze making your fingers go numb, and sure the wrong routes add up more flavour owing to a lack of cell service. 🚫📶
The scenic routes are forever imprinted in my mind and have tempted me to plan such rides even more.
Safety First: And sure, my mom's ceaseless ramblings on motorbikes constantly echo through me, making me a bit more careful. I always wear a helmet and plan to pick up more protective gear in the near future. 🪖
Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. Their unconditional love, boundless energy, and ability to live in the moment teach us so much about life. Whether it's a wagging tail greeting me at the door or a peaceful walk in the park, dogs bring pure joy into everyday moments.
There's something incredibly grounding about spending time with dogs — they don't care about your job title, your achievements, or your failures. They just want your presence and love. In a world filled with complexity, dogs remind us of what truly matters.
